Graviti Energy provides two charger options tailored to the Hospitality sector & hotel chains: Level 2 and Level 3 chargers. In areas near highways or with high traffic, we advise the use of high-speed Level 3 chargers, either exclusively or in conjunction with Level 2 chargers. For locations where guests may park for extended periods, such as overnight or during events, we recommend Level 2 chargers for destination charging.

How do I determine how many EV chargers to install at my hotel?

Determining the number of electric vehicle (EV) chargers to install at your hotel involves several factors. Firstly, we will help you assess projected demand by considering the number of guests who own electric vehicles and their charging needs. This includes analyzing your location’s accessibility and nearby attractions, as this can influence the likelihood of EV owners choosing your hotel—and also considering if you will offer public charging stations or provide the perk only to hotel guests. Consider the charging speeds required; for high-traffic areas or locations near highways, fast Level 3 chargers may be preferable, while Level 2 chargers are suitable for destinations where guests may stay for extended periods.

What types of EV charging connectors does Graviti Energy chargers support?

We support the four most common EV charging connector types:

CCS (Combined Charging System): This connector is specifically engineered for rapid DC charging and is widely adopted across both Europe and North America.
NACS (Tesla Chargers): Tesla developed its proprietary EV connector. We take pride in being among the first to offer rapid charging networks equipped with direct Tesla compatibility. Demand is growing rapidly for Tesla destination chargers.
CHAdeMO (Charge de Move): Developed by car manufacturers and industry groups, with heavy influence from Japan. Manufacturers such as Nissan and Mitsubishi are involved in promoting the CHAdeMO standard.
SAE J1772: This connector, commonly referred to as the “J Plug,” serves as the standard for AC charging among numerous EV models and is predominantly utilized for Level 1 and Level 2 charging throughout North America.

How will potential guests find my hotel when searching for hotels with EV charging stations?

EV owners will be able to find your charging station a number of ways. Firstly, your EV charging locations will be added to the Graviti Energy mobile app, for our current users to easily find your hotel. We also add each of our locations to Google Maps to take advantage of local search engine queries for those searching “nearby hotels with EV charging” or similar, while on a road trip. We also add all chargers to online directories such as PlugShare.

We recommend that you also update your online business profiles, directories, and website to inform potential guests and online visitors of your EV charging amenities.
